Cackleberry Coop is closed on Sundays and Mondays; voice mail, e-mail, and facebook messages are welcome and will be answered Tuesday through Saturday.
Chickens are our obsession here at Cackleberry Coop. We raise the breeds we raise because each one has impressed us with some superior quality, or combination of qualities, that we are driven to replicate and improve upon.
The vast majority of our birds have never seen the inside of a pen, roaming free (under the protection of flock guardian dogs) over two acres of lush land at the foot of the Bitterroot Mountains, Montana. Our breeding birds spend only as much time in pens as is necessary for pure and honest breeding practices.
Feed at Cackleberry Coop is the best that money can buy, plus whatever scraps come out of our kitchen and, of course, unlimited amounts of pasture grasses, bugs, apples from our trees, etc, etc, etc… Healthy chickens are happy chickens and happy chickens are one of life’s simple delights.
